So I'm finally getting pissed off by the stock ATC; it frequently just forgets to transfer me from departure to center, meaning my IFR flights become a nonsense of trying to reload the flightplan and getting a nearest airport to play ball (which frequently they don't). It also makes a terrible mess of things in a range of other situations. I've spent the last few days looking at alternatives, and seem to come up on 3 options; ProATC, Radar Control, and ProFlightEmulator. The problem is all the stuff I seem to find online is either years out of date, or makes no mention of how well the addon deals with extra scenery, or whether it will deal with AI traffic chatter.

For offline flying if you want all the ai traffic, voxatc and radar contact are both popular programs. Voxatc is using your actual voice and you have to train the software to recognize your voice, but I had mixed results with it and found it a little too robotic. Radar contact is a keyboard command offline atc program that is very good.

It does interact with ai traffic, but you will not hear it do so. Instead you will hear precorded ai chatter in its place, but the program will of course interact with you as long as you use the appropriate key commands.
