Just like we’ve done with Halloween and birthdays, we tried to keep the holiday alive and had an American style Thanksgiving dinner in Melbourne. It was a bit challenging getting the ingredients together, and a few grocery store employees told me, “No, we don’t have that.” but we got just about everything we needed. The kids were great helping get all the food prepared. And Erica went all out and made two pumpkin pies, from an actual pumpkin. Canned pumpkin pretty much doesn’t exist here..

As always, it’s the people that matter most, and we enjoyed this dinner with our friends Ken and Vi and their kids. For Ken, it was the first traditional Thanksgiving dinner in over 10 years. A pretty special evening..
