How To Crack Zip File Password Protected Files On Usenet Providers
Re: Assholes who password RAR files Post by sh_ithe_ad » Sun Dec 14, 2008 5:07 pm From what I hear rar files are near impossible to crack for the layman. Both apps know how to rename obfuscated files. See this page for more info. Note: In SuperNZB, if you move the PAR2 file up to the top of the Queue you will be able to watch the files get renamed as they are downloaded.

Just a quick question for you, does anyone have any pointers of how to open passworded RAR files?
I download from OZnzb, and apparently I'm the only person on that sight who reports passworded files, I've had three in a row! Does anyone know a way of opening them without having to jump through all the rediculous hoops they put in the way (which I refuse to do, for obvious reasons), or know of a better NZB directory with less passworded files, or at least more responsible users? Thanks in advance guys, I owe you one! Thank you for your response! Download navteq rt3 rapidshare library system. I am using the latest version of SAB, I didn't know it could be set to delete encrypted files though, any quick pointers on how to do it? I have been reporting passworded files when I come across them, the trouble is that not many other users on OZnzb do the same, so plenty encrypted files are repeatedly downloaded without the admin knowing they are unreliable.
It may be worth reminding you clientele to report passworded files. Otherwise it's a great site, keep up the good work!:) • • • • •. Well I'd ask the sysadmin of OZnzb to change the settings for nn+ (read OZnzb admin comment below) There are options there to check for passworded archives and than not index those. If that doesn't work, than if you are using a nzb client that lets you stop/pause archives with passwords, than turn that option on. With sabnzbd it's under 'Switches' -> 'Action when encrypted RAR is downloaded' set that to pause. Other than that, you can look at a different indexer. Now to getting passwords, a lot of those post that state go to this URL and get the password.
Well those are hit and miss and imo I would just delete and move on. I've never had luck with those and I don't want the poster to be making money from the ads. Also it's best to go to those URLs in a VM so you don't get a virus If it's not a post like that, 'sometimes' you can get the password if the poster name leads to some website. Than just find the thread (mostly these are forums) and than get the password.
And in some 'rare' cases, I've seen the password in the nfo file or someone else will post what the password is as a reply to the subject in plain text.
