The Sony Xperia M was one of the more popular Xperia mid-range smartphones to have launched in the year 2013 and came in single and dual-SIM variants. While the device wasn’t particularly impressive when it came to hardware specifications, its design and low pricing attracted a lot of buyers, especially in developing markets such as India. As is usual for Sony, the device didn’t receive software support from Sony for long, and is currently stuck on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, thanks to its popularity, the device does have quite a few custom ROMs available on XDA developers forum. And while Sony may have decided that the smartphone isn’t quite capable of handling Android versions beyond 4.3, a number of custom ROMs based on Android 4.4 KitKat are available for the device.
Recently the device also received Android 5.1.1 Lollipop courtesy of the FlexOS Nightly ROM. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop FlexOS Custom ROM has been developed by XDA senior member ace312 and currently the ROM is in Beta stage. The ROM is based on AOSP and draws several features from some of the most popular Android custom ROMs such as CyanogenMod, SlimRoms, OmniROM, and AOKP. So, as you can expect, the ROM includes a number of features that set it apart from other Android Lollipop custom ROMs available for the Xperia M.
